Case 11

Clinical notes
A 32 year-old female presented with lower abdominal pain at 6 weeks gestation. An ultrasound showed no intrauterine gestation. In view of an increasing b-hCG to >20 000, a laparoscopy and right ovarian cystectomy were performed for suspected ovarian ectopic pregnancy. The pathology however, revealed a corpus luteal cyst only. An initial CT of the pelvis did not definitively identify the suspected ectopic gestation. A PET/CT was performed for suspected gestational trophoblastic disease.
