Professor Eva Yi Wah Cheung from the Department of Diagnostic Radiology together with Dr. Peng Qiyu, Senior Researcher at the Shenzhen Bay Laboratory (深圳灣實驗室), presented the wearable brain positron emission tomography (PET) system project jointly advanced by both parties on September 28th, 2026. The presentation took place at a press conference held by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI, 粵港澳大灣區國際臨床試驗所) and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Center (BAY TRIAL, 粵港澳大灣區國際臨床試驗中心) under the theme "Deepening Greater Bay Area Collaboration to Drive Clinical Research and Healthcare Innovation." The press conference introduced the latest progress in promoting clinical research and healthcare innovation in the Greater Bay Area under the "One Institute, One Center" collaboration model and shared multiple cross-border cooperation outcomes. Established in December 2025, the "One Institute, One Center" framework launched the “Greater Bay Area Clinical Trial Collaboration Platform,” which offers one-stop support spanning regulatory strategy consultation, research center matching across the Greater Bay Area, multi-center cross-border clinical trial coordination, and participant recruitment. Prof. Cheung's participation underscores the Department's commitment to advancing cross-border clinical research collaboration and translating cutting-edge medical imaging technologies into practical clinical applications.
